Welcome to the Reber Roundup Blog, an online campfire cocktail hour.

We may only have the Reber Roundup for a few days a year, but here, online, we can gather 'round the campfire at any time. Please post your pictures, your recipes and your thoughts about the weekend. If you are having trouble with posts, just call me and we'll walk through it.

Theme for Roundup 2008 announced, calling all winners

It's the Reber Roundup Finals Rodeo this year. If you or a family member have won the spurs in the past, you are eligible. Here are the rules:

  1. Stay in category. For example, Dan McFarland, winner in the first go round in 2000, should bring a new cowboy poem. Holly and Austin (or family) stay in Cowboy Couture.

  2. Your "performance" lasts no longer than 5 minutes. If your work is static, i.e. poop shovel decorating, you can display any time after 3:00 on Saturday, July 5.

  3. You are free, within the category, to do whatever you like.

  4. For those not returning to defend their titles, the slot is open.

The goal is a good time on Saturday evening without taking the whole damn night to get through the contest. If you haven't won, but want to participate in some way, let me know. I will make an arbitrary and capricious decision.
